The band is rehearsed in two sections. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings starting with the Development Band at 6:30-7:45pm, followed by the Senior Band at 8pm-9:30pm.

The Development Band rehearses with a focus on warm ups, band techniques and developing music for performance. This ensemble is suitable for student of roughly an AMEB Grade 2 standard and above. Many of our more experienced members choose to play in this section as a warm up, to help tutor and give leadership to younger members and to develop their own skills on a second (or third) instrument.

The music becomes slightly more complex as the night progresses and is suitable for members of roughly an AMEB Grade 4 standard and above. This section builds on the ensemble skills developed in the Development Band and prepares the band for its next upcoming performance.

We rehearse in the music building of Mt Erin Secondary College which can be found at the corner of Robinsons Road & Golf Links Road, Frankston South. Enter from Robinson Road. We welcome new members throughout the year. Feel free to contact us before hand or simply turn up on a Thursday night with your instrument!
